“Acupressure… A Catalyst for Dramatic and Positive Life Changes”
Acupressure is commonly referred to as Acupuncture without the needles. Acupressure sessions is a therapy developed over 5,000 years ago. Its is an important aspect of Chinese, medicine. It uses precise points along the body. These points follow specific channels, known as meridians. According to Asian medical philosophy, activation of these points with pressure (or needles) have a great impact on the body. It can improve blood flow, release tension, and enhance or unblock life-energy, known in China as “qi” or in the English-speaking world as “chi.”Western scientists have also mapped out and proven the existence of this system of body points by using sensitive electrical devices. Acupressure points are places on the skin that are especially sensitive to bio-electrical impulses in the body. During Acupressure sessions we utilize these points with pressure to release the block. This release allows energy to flow more freely through the meridians, promoting relaxation, restoring proper functioning allowing the body to heal itself.

During your first visit we will find the area and meridians that need to be addressed. This is done by filing out a questionnaire and a noninvasive exam, which included looking at skin, tongue and taking your pulse. Once the area of disharmony is identified you lie fully clothed on a soft massage table. The practitioner gently presses on precise points on your body using Weighted Tuning Forks. A session typically lasts about one hour. Your initial visit will take 90 minutes. You may need several sessions for the best results.
Every client responds in their own unique way. Some clients fall asleep. Others yawn, laugh, cry, or may even experience a little twitch in their leg or arm. These are called ‘releases’ and they are all natural and welcome as your body’s energy flows and facilitates your healing.
Acupressure sessions allow the client’s body to return to a natural state of balance. For many people, the symptoms they had before the session such as pain or a headache are gone after the session. Others may experience emotional breakthroughs. Either way the session is a completely relaxing experience. Not sure if a session is right for you?

Acupressure sessions are highly effective for relieving muscular tension in all areas of the back. Chiropractors may use acupressure.
Tension tends to concentrate around pressure points. When a muscle is chronically tense or in spasm, the muscle fibers contract due to the secretion of lactic acid. This is caused by fatigue, trauma, stress, chemical imbalances, or poor circulation. As a point is pressed, the muscle tension yields to the pressure. Thus enabling the fibers to elongate and relax, blood to flow freely, and toxins to be released and eliminated. Increased circulation also brings more oxygen and other nutrients to affected areas. This increases the body’s resistance to illness and promotes a longer, healthier, more vital life. When the blood and bio-electrical energy circulate properly, we have a greater sense of harmony, health, and well-being. Acupressure therapy stimulates the body’s circulatory, lymphatic and hormonal systems. It also helps the function of the immune system and the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
